- Kail Muhurtha : This falls on 3rd September. This marks the end of transplanting in the rice fields. Worship and use of arms, and rededication to the cause of the land is the importance of the day.
- Cauvery Sankramana : Observed on the Tula Sankramana day which falls on the 17th of October, at the auspicious moment, Holy Cauvery emerges by a sudden upsurge of water in the holy 'Kundike', while pilgrims take a holy dip in the pond, at Talacauvery.
- Dasara : This is celebrated with grandeur, pomp and show in Madikeri and Gonicoppa, during Navarathri. Mantaps are taken around the town with attractive light decoration, in the middle of the night on the Vijayadashami day.
- Huthari : Usually held in December, this festival marks the beginning of rice harvest.
